Den šestnáctý – Ráno jsem se probudil a vyčistil si zuby ...
..., jakoby to vlastně byl úplně normální den ...
V posledním příspěvku z naší cesty se záměrně pokusíme vyhnnout všemožným klišé, která se přirozeně derou na jazyk, když člověk dosáhne něčeho neopakovatelného, a zůstaneme civilní. Žádné přehnané emoce, velká slova či pokusy vysvětlit niterní pocity melancholie. Když projedete Route 66 po celé její délce mezi Chicagem a Los Angeles a stojíte pozdě odpoledne na prosluněném molu v Santa Monice v Kalifornii, honí se vám hlavou spousta věcí. Jsou to myšlenky a emoce, které nelze dost dobře sdělit, tedy alespoň pokud jste tenhle výlet sami neabsolvovali na vlastní kůži. Někdo z lidí okolo Route 66, které jsme na naší velké cestě po Americe potkali, řekl, že cestovat po routce je způsob života a stav mysli, určitá filozofie, která sahá daleko za to, co lze obsáhnout slovy. Svatá pravda. Musíte to zkrátka zažít, abyste všemu tomu povyku okolo routky porozuměli. Lze jen upřímně doufat, že jedinečnost a magii Route 66 zprostředkuje filmový dokument, který o našem výletě vzniká. Měl by být venku na podzim letošního roku; samozřejmě vás budeme informovat o nejposlednějších novinkách.
Dnes v noci spíme v Hollywoodu, než zítra odletíme nazpět do Evropy. Popřejte nám šťastnou cestu. Mnohokrát děkujeme všem, kteří se téhle velké cesty po "Hlavní ulici Ameriky" zúčastnili, jakož i těm, kteří svým dílem přispěli k našemu dokumentu. Jejich seznam by byl opravdu předlouhý. Poděkovat musíme také všem čtenářům našeho blogu. Doufám, že se všichni znovu brzy shledáme na dalším výletu po Americe.

... as if it was just an ordinary day ...
In this last post we are intentionally going to try to avoid all sorts of clichés that naturally come up in your mind after you have achieved something remarkable, and will try to stay as civil as one can possibly be. No great emotions, words, or attempts to express some of the innermost feelings of melancholy. Having travelled Mother Road all the way between Chicago and Los Angeles and standing at the pier in Santa Monica, California on the late sunny afternoon, everybody from our 25-piece band had different feelings and thoughts rushing through their heads. These were emotions that can hardly be shared with anyone else unless, of course, they have this unique "been there, done that" experience. Someone from the R66-related folks who we met and interviewed along the way said travelling Route 66 is a way of life and a certain state of mind, a philosophy that goes far beyond what can be described using words. True that. You got to do that to know what this whole fuss is about. It is believed the uniqueness and magic of this R66 will be encapsulated in the documentary that should be out in late autumn; we will, indeed, keep you posted on the latest news regarding the film.
We are staying for the night in Hollywood and are flying back to Europe tomorrow. Wish us a safe journey back. Thanks a mill to everybody who took part in the odyssey on the "Main Street of America", as well as to those whose contribution was essential in the process of creating the film – their list would be over the top long ...
